Hey. My name's Mike D! I'm a nerdy AI newsletter writer and online educator from Greater Boston, Massachusetts. I write an AI newsletter. It is called Pithy Cyborg. The tagline is AI News Made Simple, which is either accurate or wildly aspirational depending on the week. I have been writing it long enough that I now have thousands of subscribers who, for reasons I find both flattering and genuinely baffling, open my emails.

Every week I try to untangle something real: what AI governance actually means in practice, how AI in the workforce is reshaping people's lives in ways the headlines do not fully capture, what responsible AI development looks like when the companies building these systems have enormous financial incentives to move fast. Big topics. I try to write about them like a human being, not a press release.

The podcast started as an experiment. I wanted to see what my writing sounded like out loud. The answer, at first, was: not great. But there was something honest about it, a real voice attached to real opinions, and that felt worth pursuing. Now I am multiple seasons deep and mildly obsessed with the process in a way that probably says something unflattering about my personality.
